Where exactly are you buying it from? Depending on which exact model ps3 is then you'll know as the bundle has a certain model, so what is the name of the model?

Firmware on PS3's right now are really just the luck of the drawer. There have been rumors that even with the Move Bundle released not too long ago, was being released with stock v3.40 FW. But I bought a new 500GB slim from GameStop last month with stock v3.73 FW. I believe the new PS3's in production are being released with a later firmware.

You really have to buy one and see for yourself. There's no definite answer.

If your looking to use the PS3 for modding, I recommend buying used systems. Save money and time by just searching for an older system running 3.55. I recently bought a YLOD 80GB PHAT model for 80$.. I fixed the YLOD within two hours of having the system in my possession.

How'd you fix yours? I have a phat ps3 with ylod and can't fix because I'm too stupid to figure out how to fix it.
