(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have a yellow light of death ps3 hard drive that has all the patches, geohot, emulators, etc. What would happen if I switch that hard drive to my recently updated ps3? Will I get everything back, because I am really nervous on doing this. Please help. Magglass1

It will just format the hard drive and install 4.25 on it

Exactly what ulgvd said, it needs to format it so that the new ps3 will work with that HDD "Hard Disk Drive"..and after it does all that you will notice that it's got the latest PS3 Firmware installed on it, 4.25

dang, well i really had my hopes up that it would work. Is there not a way where I can cancel update or something? I really want to do hacks since I knew how to do SOOO much.

There is no way of stopping an update, especially a PS3 Fimware, if you turn your PS3 off while it's installing the update you will basically BRICK the PS3's Hard Drive

Well you won't have cfw anymore cause the ps3 is updated by the nand/nor not the actual hard drive, you can use the link below to keep the stuff on it though.
