(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); kk, so the ps3 im about to buy is on 3.41, everything works EXCEPT it needs its optical drive replaced. So it cannot read discs. So my question is, if I buy it, install a CFW, is it possible for me to get a patch on too my 4.25 OFW Ps3? Because the blus codes will not be installed on the CFW, OR will I have to transfer my 4.25 to 3.55 so the PS3 has the game saves and the patch of mw2, so then it recognizes the BLUS. Then I can transfer patches because I know the blus?

Sorry it's confusing.

Yes, you will be able to put modded patches on your online PS3. Just get the MW2 , ect. 1.11 or whatever pkg you want and install in on your jailbroke ps3. Then install comgenie's awesome file manager and do all the other steps to put on a patch. Or you could do this You must login or register to view this content.

In the post he says he has a faulty BR drive. So are you sure I will be able to run File manager blackbox ftp etc?

if the drive is the original one then its almost certainly just a burned out laser in which case its an easy fix so yes in that case you could run homebrew (even if you dont fix the laser). if its not the original drive or if it has a more serious problem you can pair the drive and still be able to run homebrew, but in the rare case where the drive board is faulty your only choice is to install a bluray patched firmware, or replace and then pair a new controller board for the bluray. so you have many choices, it just depends on whats actually wrong with the console.

If the logic board on the BRD is fried you will get a black screen when running homebrew. You can still install a patched CFW as mentioned above.
