I heard you can use Hex editor and open your PARAM.SFO from you save and go to offset 140 and copy the I.D and the open PARAM.SFO of the moded save and go to offset 140 and replace that I.D with yours and save it?(is this true)

So far I only know of Game Genie. But it costs more.

yea i have been trying to find one and been looking for two weeks no luck and they fix the hex edite i think cause i have been trying o do that for bordelands 2. if you find anything let me know.
