(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi guys, I have encountered problem with my PS3 when I tried to replace HDD with a bigger size. I've had Rogero CFW v3.6 installed and tried to go to OFW 3.55 in order to replace hdd. However after I started update process console suddenly went off I think at formatting HDD step around 21%.
Now I got console which start after pressing powe switch but goes off in next 4-5 seconds. When I power on green light comes on but when it shuts down I see no ligth at all. I've tried to reformat HDD with PC, even wiped all data with Paragon software(even tho hdd had no partitions).
I've found very similar case here You must login or register to view this content.
but want to ask if I need just 2 ordinary usb sticks or some special dongle to perform what is written there? Also would welcome any help of how bring it back to life.

It's my first post on these forums, but I've been reading a lot before I actually wrote this.

formating the hdd wont help because the system files arent stored on the hdd. try to reinstall ofw 3.55 through recovery mode. heres how you enter the mode:

if this doesnt work you will most likly need a nand/nor flasher -> You must login or register to view this content.

i disagree with the above post. true, the system files aint stored on the hdd, they are on the nand. but the first thing the system checks is the file stucture stored on the hdd. if not complete the system will not boot.

and as the ps3 encrpts a layer on the hdd you might be shit out of luck, had same prob when i was playing around with a progskeet.

unfortunately it doesn't go into recovery mode it just begins to start, then shuts down as usual
