maybe because know 1s if shops update them or what ever but probs best to buy 1 off ebay. Reason is that shops have to test there ps3s and i believe sony asked shops 2 update also you could just could just ask what firmwares it on or has it been updated they dont mind

They won't be able to open a brand new in box PS3 to update them, as then they are not brand new :p

They were asked to update and Pre-Owned ones as far as I know

either way you can just ask what firmware there on and what the lowest

PS3 Bundles are shipped with the firmware the game requires to run so if black flops requires 3.50 it will be shipped with 3.50
