I understand that there is no way to update from OFW 4.30 to CFW 4.30 and there is no way to downgrade.. Just curious to what keys need to be found before software downgrades and CFW may come back into the limelight..

You can downgrade with an e3 Flasher, but it requires opening your ps3 console and that can be risky.
I believe that the keys that are needed are already dumped and decrypted. We are just waiting for the Devs to release the ability to jailbreak firmwares higher than 3.55. This does require skills and patience. So be patient and before you know it just might be released. If not than I understand why. (Geohotz -> sued by Sony). But who knows, this scene has been spicing up a lot lately...

Nope you need a new exploit to install cfw over ofw from 3.56 which is still unknown to devs/hiding it from us till now.Sony already patched the hole in 3.56. 3.56+ firmwares removes the exploited metldr (asecure loader) and boots from a secur bootldr (Boot Loader) which is not fully exploited as of now even if lvlo keys are found.Also onward 3.56 sony updated the way a firmware installs on ps3 so a ps3 can easily detect a modified firmware via various checks which is integrated on 3.56+.
