Im not a ps3 person but I just had this question in my head for a while. I just need someone to explain to me why this isn't possible, or hasn't been done.

I am not fully sure why not, but I think it has something to do with Sony patching some exploits that allowed cfw on 3.55, and since they are patched the Devs need to find another way to jb firmwares higher than 3.55. So for now I guess the best thing to do is wait.

Sony keys has nothing do with creating a cfw they are used for signing apps and games!!
From 3.56+ firmwares Sony removes the exploited metldr (asecure loader) and boots from a bootldr (Boot Loader) which is not fully exploited as of now even if lvl0 keys are found.Also onward 3.56 sony updated the way a firmware installs on ps3 so a ps3 can easily detect a modified firmware via various checks which is integrated on 3.56+.Also sony removed/changed the offsets of qa flag so qa flag doesn't work anymore on higher firmwares.

after 3.55 sony implemented ecdsa into their firmware which is almost impossible to crack the 3.55 keys were the last set to be found out and until we crack ecdsa or find the keys for the newer 4.31 update the only way to get cfw is by downgrading
