hey i have a ps3 with 3.55 ofw but no bluray drive can anyone tell me the best way to get online or maybe send me to a good tutorial? I will rep and give some vbux for whoever helps me get online with my 3.55

Okay, first off can you run homebrew? And to get online download
Rebug 4.21 cfw (download from rebug.me) in order to install the 4.21 cfw you have to be on 3.55 ofw, which you are so you're good, to install it first download the cfw and rename it to PS3UPDAT.PUP if it is called differently and put it in you're usb, in this way make a folder called PS3 in the root of you're usb and in that folder make another one called UPDATE and in that folder you put the cfw that you renamed PS3UPDAT.PUP and plug it in to the right most port of you're ps3 and update either from xmb or recovery menu. Once you install it go to the package manager option in the game directory and go to install package files and then install from hardisk I can't recall but that should be something with harddrive and install Rebug toolbox 2.00.00 and switch to rebug mode and that should enable psn. Any other questions ask.

every time i try to open a file manager i get black screened

Quote correctly next time as I might not come back just to check a reply, but the reason you get a black screen is because if your lack of the a blu ray drive, do you have the logic board still connected? As without a blu ray or atleast a married logic board you will get a black screen for all homebrew.

idk how can i fix it and how would i chech if its married?

So is the blu ray drive no longer with you? And to fix it yiu have to replace the drive, unless you kept the logic board which is attached underneath the blu ray drive, so if you still have it I can help you if not then you have to buy a new blu ray.and logic board.

Well it depends what you're ps3 model is, it says it on back of the ps3 should be something like this (cech-XXX) tell me you're model and i'll tell you which.are compatiable and how to remarry a drive to your ps3.
