First off you (nobody can) can't and probably for a long time won't be able to hack their ps3s which are past 3.56 ofw (Official Firmware), so youre only available option is to invest in a flasher to downgrade you're ps3 to 3.55 ofw or cfw, downgrading is not possible with a normal usb or any software above 3.55, all cfws above 3.55 are only able to be installed, with you being on on 3.55 first.
And Xbox360 modding is not exactly relevant, also in order to downgrade you're ps3 must have either been on 3.55 or below to downgrade.

Youre right about that but its not that we cant its because developers will never release another cfw after the incident with sony and geohot. Ive had a 3.55 ps3 since 2010 so im good.

there is a 3.71 or something all i know is there is one higher than 3.56, but you're SOL.

The Only way that you can JailBreak your PS3 is if your Firmware is 3.55 or under!
But you can buy an E3 Flasher which will allow you to downgrade your PS3. :y:

There are now CFW's up to 4.30, but if you are currently on any OFW above 3.56 you will need a hardware flasher to downgrade first. You MAY be able to downgrade your console using a hardware flasher, but you will need to make sure your unit is compatible. If your unit is a 3000 or above at this point in time you will be unable to downgrade. I believe and I could be wrong there are some 2500's that are also unable to be downgraded even with hardware. E3 flasher can be used with NOR chips. PROGSKEET's hardware can be used with NAND or NOR chips.(With both of these soldering may be required). If you do jump in make sure you do your homework.
