(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I am currently in the middle of downgrading my slim model cech-200A and have run into a problem the hard drive cover is making it very difficult for me to attach the soft board clip to the main board, the hard drive cage is held together very securely is it safe to remove the top of the cage to give me easier access to the main board as i don't want to damage the ribbon and other parts of the PS3 etc?

(sorry if this doesn't make much sense its difficult to describe haha)

Can you provide some pictures?

Take the top of the cage off then tape the ribbon down so it wont get damaged

Im not at home at the moment mate, but basically from all the installation videos i have seen the cage has been open but on mine it seems to have an extra part that is fixed into it under where the blu ray drive is...... Also my nor chip is a different way round as well not sure whats going on tbh everything seems different to the tutorial vids haha, Any thoughts?

Cheers boys i just don't want to wreck my whole ps3 by doing something rash and ripping it of and damaging the mother board or something! haha
