My main purpose is to learn some new things about creating patches and such.

These are the steps I used to jailbreak a few years ago, do they still work the same way? That's all I really need to know guys, thanks a lot. No it's not, you need 3.55 ps3, there are jailbreaks for more recent firmwares but you need 3.55 to install them
