(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well in the past two days or so, I've been having a tremendous amount of people ask me if I got banned from PSN yet. I had no idea why they were asking me that, as I have not taken my 3.55 online (never banned) since.... well, a LONG time ago. I received word that ALL CFW users are getting banned?

I'm not sure if this directs towards accounts, consoles, or what. So basically my question is:
Who is getting banned, and why?

Please include details like this:
All users that have been signed in on a CFW PS3 are NOT or IS getting banned
Just 3.55 PS3s are getting banned from online
Just 4.30+ PS3s are getting banned from online

I'd really like to know what's going on. I want to know if I should expect my account to be banned from PSN, or if I'm good because I haven't taken my CFW PS3 online in ages?

Two days ago "Before Banhammer" i use to play online in my 3.55 with my main account...After i see all people get BAN, i dont Log in my Ps3....And i can play just fine in my 4.31 with my main account...

I believe only the ps3 get banned, because i can still access my main account on my ofw

My friend got console and account ban. O and also yer I've tried changing Mac address and psid and yer doin that stuff doesn't work

They do this to see if you are on the latest FW to sign onto SEN. Now when you sign on with CFW, you are using older keys to access their servers. This flags your ps3 and basically reports it to be banned from their service. THIS IS NOT A MAC ADDRESS BAN! There is a "hidden" serial number within the packets being sent between your ps3 and their servers. They ban that serial number that is encrypted within those packets. Hence why you can not unban with a simple mac address change.


you are totally wrong there is nothing doing with what keys a firmware has.Sony cannot blacklist any keys because older games and multiplayer will stop working the moment Sony does that.A ps3 can sign into psn at any time with any firmware as long as the passphrase of accessing psn on higher/current firmware is known.
Sony banned users mostly who cheated online or were playing pirated black ops2 for the later scans your internal hdd and reports the folder structure to treyarch who in turn sends the data to Sony.
