(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});I had a 3.55 ps3. I installed 4.30 rogero cfw and after a few days of playing normally I get the ylod. Now keep in mind I had just recently replaced thermal paste and cleaned ps3 for dust as I regularly did to maintain the system. My ps3 started by shutting off with a blinking red light. So I let it sit for two days and put a fan on it. After a couple of days I booted up only to find the ylod.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
You do have a point. It seems when I play regular games vs CFW PS3 games the temperature varies. With CFW games, it gets really hot. You just have to reball the PS3. I repaired my PS3 3 times after it got the YLOD. But for a permanent fix of the YLOD, just reball your PS3.
OP,
I think you should change the title of the post to Rogero 4.30 "may" cause ylod because you just do not have any sure fire evidence that the cfw caused the ylod. Not trolling, but you may not want to risk giving someone's development a bad rap if the ylod was merely coincidental or caused by other factor(s) or a combination of factors. Notwithstanding, sorry that happened to your system.

in terms of your ps3 having ylod....Have you put loads of pressure on the ps3 top and turn it on? its a well known trick since i repair ps3s alot and my 3.55 rebug never ever gets hot! but then again its a slim not phat....if it has stuck to ylod still let me know i may be able to reflow it for you
I agree with this post. I installed 4.30 v2.03 and Rebug's toolbox reported it running at 75C. When I use Rebug's 4.21.1 REX it runs at 60C. I thought maybe my system was just running hot at the moment, but that was not the case. I went back and forth a couple times just to see. It seems different firmwares do affect operating temperatures.
