He didn't release any custom firmware. It was a stupid kiosk firmware that has no use at all. There's no way to go to 3.55 with it.

Yeah the only way you can go back to 3.55 is using some kind of hardware unlock like an E3 Flasher or Progskeet. However they don't work for all consoles so you have to make sure yours is compatible before buying it.

The reverter didn't put you back to 3.55, I think it only put you back to retail 4.21. If you want to be on 3.55 again then you need to buy a 3.55 ps3 or find the appropriate downgrading method which WILL require you to open your ps3. Sorry for the bad news.

He should be fine seeing as how he was already on 3.55 before hand, I'm guessing he has a phat model by the sound of it.

I thought he just updated to that kiosk firmware from ofw and wanted to go back to 3.55. I haven't looked into it so i'm not sure if he can do it.

No I meant he was on 3.55 so the downgraders should work (probably progskeet because he might have NAND memory). That's all I meant.
