With these keys you can sign a PS3 update to the latest version of a PS3. Without these keys there is no CFW or JailBreak for a update higher than 3.56. Now there are 3.55-Patches so you can update from 3.55 to 4.31-? and still have a CFW PS3. If your using 3.55 keys for a 4.31 update, then it's NOT a 4.31 CFW. Like I said, it's a 3.55-Patch CFW. So if you see a thread here saying 4.31 JailBreak or CFW, it's either fake, it's meant to be installed on 3.55, and/or it's a SEX firmware (Shop). These keys are VERY hard to find because they are encrypted with a algorithm called the ECDSA Algorithm. In order to get the keys from that, you need to crack it, and it's estimated to take 60 years to do that with moores law. Also if you find a video on youtube saying it's a 4.31 CFW, then again it's either a fake CFW, to be installed on 3.55, or its a SEX firmware (Shop). um yea sony blocked modified firmware to be installed on official firmware. When you edit a pup your not putting it in sony's keys as made. think about it here now, alot of the homebrew had to be resigned with 4.30 keys just to work on 4.30 cfw, is that not enough to prove its a 4.30 cfw, the only thing that may be in it that is on all cfw is a modifed lv1, lv2, lv0 to be able to run unsigned sony keys for homebrew. you should also take a real close look into what rogero said when he made 4.30cfw v2.03 he took the actual 4.30.pup and modified it. now again once modified the ps3 that is higher than 3.55 will not accept it. it will show up as error because its modified and official firmware can see that just like black ops 2 can see when your using a modded console or a modded eboot. The whole reason why its only 3.55 that can do this is because they had the full keys to sonys firmware that let them mod it., so they released a way to stop cfw from being installed after 3.55, they blocked everything and made a 3.56 that checks for modified pups and says no. if you can fix that then you can get on any cfw on or above. but as long as there is a security guard there keeping your ps3 locked up then your ps3 is not getting out of jail.
