since you can replace your hdd on ps3, they say you need to download the firmware from Sony' s site to put on a flash drive for when u put the new blank hdd on your ps3 so it can install the firmware.. so my question is, would you be able to get a jb Fw to install instead of the Sony firmware since the hdd is blank?

No, this would not work. The firmware is stored in the NOR/NAND depending on the model of your PS3. Due to this, the only way to downgrade is by flashing your NOR.

So I guess that's when the Eflashers come in? One more thing tho, what about if my ps3 can go down to 3.66.? it can't be jbed? I used a pup file from the forums to check what's the lowest my ps3 can go!
