So, I have a PS3 Slim CECH2002b PS3, I know its downgradable. It has a Samsung NOR Chip (That has a high chance of being the issue maybe, and that I am going about it wrong). But any way, I put the NOR Clip on the NOR CHIP, and I make sure its on flush and the best it can be, I triple check to be certain, I tape it down, and I put the thing back together, I connect the clip to the E3 HDD thingy thats in the caddy, and I put the original HDD in the eSata station and I put the sata cable into the front of the TF Board. I start the PS3 up, all lights etc. are working normally. Now, I was told there was a certain updated needed for the Samsung NOR PS3's, I downloaded that and I am quite sure it worked when trying to update to it. Anyway, I try to do the back up step of downgrading, and it does not work. The 1st, 2nd and 7th lights flash at me repetitively at the same time. I pull apart my PS3, make sure the clip is still on correct and it is, perfectly. I decide to maybe skip that step and move on to the next step of downgrading, by putting the switch to 'Unlock' and put the e3_dowgrade.bin on the Micro SD card and insert it, press start and again get the same response as I got attempting to do the back up. I'm really stumped and I really don't know what to do. Its driving me nuts!
Seriously, if anyone can help me to fully downgrade this damn thing I will pay you $20 Paypal, legit.
mate i tried this 4 2 solid weeks did what u did and kept getting those flashing lights i did eventually get a backup but it was all corrupted. - waste of $$$ and time if you ask me. i put like a tone of tape coins really have objects mashed the shit out of it even used a vice and it still never took a good backup 2 much pressure on the chip will not allow the PS3 2 turn on not enough pressure u will get Overheat errors since heat sync not touching properly.
i even tried soldering the E3 Linker never works pins 2 tiny wires 2 crowded it was a mess. never worked 4 me.
