Ok, so i bought a new PS3 on 3.55 (Been in storage for years) not got a spec of dust on the inside and while mid game (Dont matter what game) it shuts down and blinks red (I'm guessing overheating?) so i cant do a fan test cause it was not ment for this console (Chechc04) so i was thinking of Re-Flowing, Adding new thermal paste (Artic silver 5), and putting no clean flux under the GPU and CPU. If i were to do this how long will it last if its done properly?
Thanks, Dylan.
Yes these are the first signs of the ylod. You should definitely clean it and get the dust out and replace the thermal paste. When picking a thermal paste it should be leaded. The leaded ones last longer and can handle much higher temperatures.
