(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok, so i bought a new PS3 on 3.55 (Been in storage for years) not got a spec of dust on the inside and while mid game (Dont matter what game) it shuts down and blinks red (I'm guessing overheating?) so i cant do a fan test cause it was not ment for this console (Chechc04) so i was thinking of Re-Flowing, Adding new thermal paste (Artic silver 5), and putting no clean flux under the GPU and CPU. If i were to do this how long will it last if its done properly?

It will certainly help but, it will probably depend on how much you use it or how hot the ps3 gets. You could always upgrade the fan aswell.

Yes these are the first signs of the ylod. You should definitely clean it and get the dust out and replace the thermal paste. When picking a thermal paste it should be leaded. The leaded ones last longer and can handle much higher temperatures.

well i think you just need a new fan thats probably it but just get a new fan and all and see if that works

Do some fan mods and fan controller so you can adjust everything to your liking.

i had the same problem , just make sure you ps3 has plenty of room to breathe , thats what made my ps3 do that , just move it into a open area , hope it helps
