Why dont you just update to a higher CFW as Rogero 4.30 or rebug rex 4.21.2 ? =) They all have PSN access so you can easily deactivate your ps3. Its pretty easy just install the toggle_qa pkg on your ps3 go to network settings, hover over them( dont click on it) and press this combo. L2 + R2 + L1 + R1 + L3 + Dpad down. 3 new options will appear. Go to debug settings and enable System Debug!
Now your ps3 is ready to go. install the original 3.55 Firmware and trough recovery menu. once done you can upgrade to any of these new CFW !

When i update to Rogero 4.30, do i just sign in or do i need to install something to sign in?

go on sony website an log on to ur account and then you can unlink all the account that are on the ps3
if you dnt want to follow this method then just update and sign in an do it and what fw you updating to i can help you
