(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey im wondering how you would go about decrypting a archive.dat file to find the console id because my friend gave me 4 archive.dat files that each contain a console id and would like to know how to find it. So far i have it in hex editor but cant figure where to go from there. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You could try to get it because it imports the console ID into the backup but if you decrypt with salsa20 in C# you could prob find it..... we just need the key.... thats where we are stuck


trust me..cids are not on the files you have each with a system backup..

it says ps3, export, backup, then 201303061947, then the archives (in seperate folders

Well if the CID's aren't in the files then it must sign the files with the console ID! Maybe we can unsign it...... hummm brb gonna try it

yes this only a simple backup..you can do it with a usb stick on xmb..its saves only savegames etc..but cid is not include it..
