I'm new to this stuff, the only thing I've jailbroken was my Wii and that took a few months because I couldnt find clear info.. But the Ps3 is more complex then that.

So, any help will be nice .
Also, I'm running on 4.31 and if I have to and I'm 100% or at least about 80% safe, I'll downgrade to 3.55 if needed.

If you switching you don't can play Bo2. You can, but you will get a console ban.

If you want to jailbreak and your PS3 is on 4.31 you will need to buy an E3 Flasher to downgrade to 3.55 so you can jailbreak. You can't just downgrade. Search E3 Flasher on google.

I dont know. My mom doesnt want me to jaikbreak it, as she's worried since she just got me it.
But, is there a way I can do both? Play CoD and jailbreak it so I can use FTP and such?
