Post: DECH-J00a Heatsink Replacement?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Today is the day I need help from NGU, I've done research on motherboard revisions to see if any match up to mine but I'm not fairly certain enough to ride it off. I want to replace my heat-sink in my new DECH-J00a Debugging station because it operates at 78'C even after applying Arctic Cooling MX-4 thermal grease, adding high performance thermal pads, thoroughly cleaning it out and putting in my broken 60GB's19 blade fan! This shouldn't be happening, I've tried reapplying already and same results. I've determined that the dinky heatsinks are to blame at this point.

The console is based on the CECH-Jxx design and has the DIA-002 MB revision, I have a heat-sink available currently from my broken CECH-A01 and a CECH-G01 available to try and replace it. Anybody try anything like this? Will any others work? Something else?

Thanks in advance for the help. Smile

UPDATE: I decided to just use my ears for a second and let the PS3 run, it slowly creeped up from 38'C to 75'C over a span of 10min but did or in this case didn't do what I thought it would do. The PS3 is designed to rev up the fan at 75'C to cool it down, IT NEVER DID! Anybody know why it wouldn't be revving up?
