today I bought an external hard drive. the Model is:

WD My Passport 500 GB USB 2.0/3.0

I formatted in FAT 32 but PS3 does not read it, I also created the partitions, but nothing can someone help me?
Please I'm desperate

Just curious how did you format it to FAT32? cause i have a toshiba 1TB and it works fine, you didnt choose FAT or exFAT right?

no i have formatted to FAT32 with EaseUS Partition Master 9.2.1 Home Edition

You said you had 2 ps3s, is it not showing up on either ps3?

on 2 ps3 not work

Try reformatting with You must login or register to view this content. that's the program i use and i have never had any issues.

What are you trying to view off the external? Do you have everything in the appropriate folders?

On My PS3 CFW:
I Try to read ps3 backup,pkg file,and savegame
Same on OFW

Backup on folder GAMEZ,Savegame on PS3-SAVEGAME,and pkg without folder

Only two things i can think of is either you setup multiple partitions on the drive and the PS3 isn't reading them correctly (don't need partitions for the ps3)
--OR--
The USB ports are bad..

I'm sure there is probably another explanation but that's all i can think of, you can always try different ports too if you haven't already
