HOLD PS3 down till it turns off then hold it again till it turns off then hold it until you hear 3 beep, the first 1 and then the 2nd and 3rd will beep really fast then you will be in recovery mode. Where it says restart PS3, press x then you will set your PS3 settings for your tv. If that doesn't work then you are semi bricked. Make sure your ps3 is connected to tv by hdmi or whatever your using.

Put a update Pup of what ever firmware its on in the root of a usb drive and plug it into the Usb slot next to the Blu-Ray drive.
Then Power on and see if you get any hard drive activity,some times it will reinstall the firmware.
