Well it would be safer to data transfer but the thing with that is only patches can be transferred eboots however can not. If you were to go online being on 4.40 is safer from what I have heard but regardless of the game when your modding it there is a chance to get banned. As to use eboots you just need filezilla on the laptop and multiman as a ftp and transfer it over, if you wanted to mod eboots you need a few programs.
