Absolute Zero
Do your homework, fool.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey NGU, JHD here.
My friend has phat Ps3 that apparently RSOD'd on him, just randomly. He says after a few times of trying to restart, yada yada, it boots straight into recovery mode. He also said that when he tries to update via recovery, it gets stuck around 50-60 % and restarts. is this just a form of bootloop? If so, does anyone know any way to get this thing up and running? I can have it if I can fix it, and I only really want it for the ID. So please, any helpful input is appreciated Smile
EDIT: Its an OFW 4.31

ah, ok...,
yeah using wireshark needs the ps3 to boot to use the program, to be able to retrieve the Console I.D.
other than installing a new/other hard drive (sometimes RSOD occurs from corrupt data or broken hard drive) and trying to rebuild the data base from that, to get to xmb menu, i wouldn't no i'm afraid. but the console does have the RSOD, which is the big problem, more chance it's faults from other hardware and will be near impossible to fix unless sending to a specialist or sony themselves. hope someone can help you on this, but i think the task is to great to be worth it. try getting a cheap second hand or faulty ps3 from ebay that you can get into xmb and go from there? good luck.
