(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello guys. ^_^

I want to first thank all of you guys because I've been reading the forums here for a while at NGU and I sure learned a lot of things here most especially Jailbreaking and about custom firmwares. X_X

Just recently, I bought a Jailbroken PS3 with a Rogero 4.30 as it's custom firmware version and downloaded myself a couple of games like GOW3, GOW Ascension and everything was working fine and I could play all the games. I wanted to put in more games into my PS3 and I thought "I should really upgrade it's HDD to 1tb". I then upgraded the HDD in it to 1 TB (thanks to the faqs here). From what I've learned, I know that when you swap HDDs in the PS3, you are required to format that drive and once again install the custom firmware. So I thought "maybe I should just upgrade it to 4.40 right away after the format" and so I did. After the format, the PS3 asked me for a firmware update and I chose the 4.40 Rogero CEX. After doing all of that, I then started to play again and to my dismay, some of the games are not working anymore.

Games like my God of War 3, God of War Ascension, Little Big Planet and etc.

This really made me sad and I did my best to research as much as I can to try and solve this issue. I did all sorts of things like finding a patch fix, upgrade to Rebug 4.41, buying another copy and all of them didn't work for me. I then resorted to downgrading but again, this didn't work for me. It keeps saying "This Update Data is not supported on this system". It keeps on saying that everytime I try to update via the XMB or even in the recovery option. I can't downgrade to earlier versions :mad:

I don't usually post like this because I really take pride on being able to find the solutions and getting the workarounds myself but it's been weeks now and I still haven't found the solution. Could you guys lend me a hand? I'm really desperate now :mad:

Could this be a problem with how I installed the CFW? It was 4.30 before it prompted me to ask for a system update after I formatted the hard drive in the ps3. Should I have not upgraded at all?

Any help would be greatly appreciated Smile

Im guessing you didnt enable QA before updating ? If not you have to use the 999 downgrader, there are many tuts on ngu regarding that. As for the firmware i would go for rebugs rex 4.21 as it isnt the lastest but also not the lowest, all games work for me on this firmware.

Sorry I can't help more right now, got work in a few minutes. To be able to downgrade firmwares you must QA Flag your PS3 and install a previous Rebug version like 3.55.4 or 4.21.2 or 4.30.2. Sorry again, hope it all works out for you. ^^

You also seem nice but please post here = You must login or register to view this content.

You can QA on 4.xx firmwares now with the Rebug Toolbox, no need for the downgraders.

Try using both either, 4.25 Downgrader, and 9.99 Downgrader

Thanks for the heads up ^_^

I already did try and use the Rebug Tool (installed it from a pkg file) and enabled the QA flag from there and made an update but odd enough, it still won't let me downgrade. It still gives me an error "This update date is not supported on this system" but I'll try again. :(

With the firmware you suggested, maybe I'll give it a try.^_^

My method of downgrading at the moment is to upgrade from Rogero 4.40 to Rebug 4.41, then install Rebug 4.21 on top of it. Hope this will fix the game incompatibilities. It's all I really want. To make the games that once worked work again on my PS3 :(

Oh shoot I'm really sorry! My bad :mad: and thank youuuuuuu for the suggestion! I'll try it but I already did enable QA flag via the Rebug Tool (installed via pkg) but still wouldn't let me downgrade. Keeps on giving me a "This Update Data is not supported on this system" but I'll try still.

I guess I should post my questions on the link you gave me. Thanks ^_^
