(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Where is the PS3's firmware installed? Hard drive? Because I was wondering if I could put my CFW's harddrive in my OFW and use that one...

The FW is on the FLASH of your PS3, you can swap HDDs but I'm pretty sure it would need to be formated.

Alright please do! But I'm like 95% sure since it's two different file system's in a way with OFW and CFW.

The firmware is stored in the NOR/Nand Chip so no, it is not possible. :mmm:

I guess I read it wrong. Thought he was asking if the cfw would carry over.

He is asking of the CFW would carry over.

On NAND PS3s, all the FW is on the NAND flash. On NOR PS3s, 16MB of the FW is on the NOR flash and the rest is on the HDD.

Even if most part of the FW is on the HDD on NOR PS3s, it is per console encrypted so it will not carry over to the OFW PS3 or to any other PS3. Once you insert it in the other PS3, it will format it immediately.
