(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello everyone, So, i recently just got the PS3 Phat, i would say they are backwards compatible but im not sure as i hadn't gotten that far. The PS3 didn't have a HDD, so i found one, and inserted, and it recognized it. and then said that it needed to be Partitioned. it says to install the update 3.30, or later.

-Things ive done.
Formatted my USB to Fat32
Folders < USB < PS3 < UPDATE < PS3UPDAT.PUP

Ive went from starting ps3 up, and it asking to update, to actually going through the Recovery Menu, and
It just stays at Checking, Please wait, I left it on for hours, and then says, press start and select, but then starts over.

Is there a solution for this?
Will a CD work, and how would i burn it? Is there a solution besides a CD?
Should i try installing 3.30, Instead of 3.55?

Remember to put it in the furthest usb slot to the right and have these folder inside the USB directory PS3>UPDATE>UPDATE Goes Here

Make sure the name of the .PUP fw update is named: PS3UPDAT.PUP

EDIT: Go to my firmware collection page to get 3.55 Official firmware update You must login or register to view this content. cause the one you got could be currupted.
