Post: If you switch to DEX & update past 3.55 can you still downgrade?

I want to switch my fat cechg01 to a debugging station (for private BO2 Modding) & i need to know that if i update past 3.55 Official Debug Firmware will i be able to downgrade without a flasher

u dont need e3 flash to do anything on dex unless u brick

Yes, just use the 3.55 downgrader firmware. Use my thread below to get it.

Can you still update from the hard drive to a lower version of System Software?

ok i'm having a problem with dumping the root key, the ps3 dumps the key & it is on dev_hdd0/tmp/eidXXXXX - but when i copy it to the USB & search for it on my pc it dissapears but if i plug my usb to my ps3 the key is there wtf?

the root key file still doesn't show up on my drive, i went to Comgenie & tried copying it again & it shows up twice on the USB files list

Use a FTP server then, Comgenies has flaws.

I'm on 3.55 CFW with the respective Comgenie version =, i'll try updating to 4.21 rex & installing Comgenie 4.21 to try & copy it if all else fails i will try FTP'ing.

Edit: Ok i got around it by going to File explorer on my pc & typing F:\eid_root_key & opening it with notepad then saving it as eid_root_key.BIN does this make a difference? (does it edit my root key?)

Edit 2: renaming it with notepad fucks up the key because it adds 2 bytes to the size making it 50 bytes altough if i check with winrar i can see the key just not with this shitty OS called Windon'ts 7

Edit 3: ok in Windows 7 you have to uncheck: "Hide protected operating system files"to see the root key file
