i am relatively new to the whole modding scene and my original ps3 is fried so the only other ps3 i own is updated all the way up to 4.31 and was wondering if anyone can help me. is there any way at all to jailbreak it? any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

What happened with your old PS3? Do you still have it? And to downgrade you need to first determine if you can go back to 3.55 and you can check that here; You must login or register to view this content. , you need your model number where it starts at CECHxxxx, then at the same website you need to determine if your PS3 has a NOR or NAND FLASH. Then once you know if your PS3 can go back to 3.55 and you know which FLASH your PS3 has now you can go ahead search for which flasher to use to downgrade, which it's the E3 Flasher for NOR model PS3s or ProgSkeet for NAND model PS3s. Note that you WILL! have to take apart your PS3 to do all this!!
