So I need help from the pros. after I get on 3.55 ofw I want to get on 4.21.1 rebug DEX firmware. any help for that too?

You don't have to go through OFW 3.55 first, just install Rebug 4.30.2 REX from XMB on top of OFW 3.41 by following the guide below:

1- Install Rebug 4.30.2 from XMB:
Download Rebug 4.30.2 from Rebug's website, verify the md5 hash, rename the PUP to PS3UPDAT.PUP, put it on your FAT32 formatted flash drive in PS3\UPDATE, go to System Update and Update via Storage Media. Make sure there's NO original game disk in the drive and that you DON'T Update via Internet or else you would risk installing OFW higher than 3.55!

2- Install Rebug Update Package 0.2:
Download Rebug_Update_Package_0.2_4.30.x.pkg from Rebug's website, verify the md5 hash, install it from Package Manager, launch it under the Game column and follow the on screen prompts, the screen will freeze for a while when you select Yes, do NOT force shut down your PS3 at this stage or else you will get a nice and shiny RSOD! Just be patient and wait for it to finish what it's doing, it will reboot if needed when finished. This will update the built-in spoofer to 4.41. Once the PS3 has rebooted, you can delete Rebug Update Package from your XMB as it is not needed anymore.

3- Enable QA and Activate the Spoofer:
Go to Package Manager > Install Package Files > PS3 Hard Disk and install Rebug Toolbox. Launch it under the Game column, go to Utilities and change Toggle QA Flag to Enabled. This is to ensure easier and safer downgrading. Now go to Selector and change System Mode to Rebug, this will activate the built-in spoofer to prevent accidental updates to OFW >3.55 and allow PSN access (with ban risk).

Then convert to DEX by following one of the C2D guides.

QA Flag will do NOTHING if he updates to 4.41 OFW. He'll be stuck there until he gets a flasher to downgrade.

Go to my thread below to get ANY file you may need to get CFW on your system.

You must login or register to view this content.

1) Download and install 3.55 OFW CEX from my thread. To do this, copy the file into this directory on the USB, {PS3 > UPDATE > PS3UPDAT.PUP}, plug this in the right-most USB slot on the PS3. Take out ANY BD Disk that may be in the system then update thru XMB. Select removable media instead of internet.

2) Once done, do the same for the CFW of your choice. Rebug firmwares are probably the best for you IMO. But instead of installing thru the XMB, install thru the Recovery Menu. To access the Recovery Menu, turn off the PS3. Hold the power button until it turns on and beeps twice then shuts off. Hold the power button again until it turns on then beeps once then twice repeatedly then let go of the power button. Plug the USB in the right-most USB slot and the controller in another one and hit option 6: Update System. Again make sure no disk is in the drive.

3) Download and install the "Rebug Toolbox v2.01.02" from my thread. Run the app and go to the right-most column and Enable QA Flag Toggle. Restart system and you're done. Smile

Good Luck!

You're wrong because you couldn't have QA downgraded from any OFW higher than 3.55. The only way to downgrade any OFW higher than 3.55 is using a hardware flasher. Actually, once you install OFW higher than 3.55, QA will be disabled automatically.

So when you say "i downgraded from a 4.40 ofw with qa", you're either drunk, high or lying... Winky Winky
