(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey my friend brought over his ps3 that accidentally got updated to 4.41 OFW, i downgraded it to 3.55 using the e3 flasher, everything was good updated him to rebug 4.41 lite he got home and said he would load a game then within 2-3 minutes the console would shut down, i told him bring it by i will apply some new thermal paste it sounds like its starting to get YLOD, so i applied brand new Artic Silver 5 thermal paste, went to try and load a game same promblem, so now i can rule out overheating i checked the temps in multiman and all looked normal no signs of overheating, could this have anything to do with the console being updated to 4.41 OFW after being on CFW?
Also someone asked me if i dehashed and yes i enabled toggle QA and installed 3.55 tried both rebug and rogero still no luck.

4.xx CFW has these problems. running high CPU, GPU. just remembered reading about it, while trying to boot games it shits off. this PKG tool works well tho i used it to just for general use. So no not the Fan, Just the CFW

So if its not the fan and its the CFW i have tried other firmwares and it still happens, i have other consoles running on the same firmware just fine, doesnt really make sense to me, do you know of any firmware i can use that wont do this, or do i have to re-enable some checks or something, i know something isnt right and it has to be from updating to 4.41 OFW when it was already on CFW now its somehow auto-detecting pirated games and shutting off?
And its not trying to boot the game thats shuts the console down, he is able to load a game then within 2-5 minutes the console just shuts down.

oh. maybe then your PS3 hardware is the problem. Has the PS3 ever had YLOD? or does it get hot and overclock the fan ? before it shuts off the PS3?

No i already said i changed thermal paste temps look normal its not overheating and never had YLOD. I went out and bought a tube of brand new thermal paste thinking it will fix it and nothing

Does it only do it with backups or just all games inc discs?

So far as i can tell its only happening with backups i told him to try a legit game disc when he gets home hes going to let me know, if the game works fine playing off disc, and the console only shuts off while playing backups what could this be?
