you need to have a wired connection from your ps3 to your router or put your ps3 in dmz and go to arget manager add a new target with the same i from your ps3

how do i connect the laptop to the router and from the ps3

You have a couple options.

1) You can use the wire from your ps3 to the router and then connect your laptop to the routers wifi.
2) You can use the wire from your ps3 to your laptop, then connect to your routers wifi and use ICS to give the ps3 internet access.

Check youtube for some tutorials.

Bridge the connection.
highlight both (wifi/ethernet) and right click and press bridge connection.
