so i took out my old hardrive put the new one in and it ask for a update
4.30 or above, i downloaded 4.30.2 rex rebug and it installed... package
files are installing from the hardrive but when i try to install them
from the usb they show up all distorted and it gives me a error when i try
to load them. Any suggestions?

Put the old one back in and it should boot the the XMB. Then just downgrade to 3.55 OFW and replace it again and it'll ask to install 3.55 or higher. Then you can just install 3.55 OFW again.
