Ok thank you for the help so far I think im nearly done, what I have done so far.
1-First I downgraded from 4.40_1.02 back to 3.55 with the Rogero Downgrader any CFW version to 3.55.PUP
2-(Then I ran psidpatch and pressed L1 then R1 to patch my Console ID and PSID from USB as I my console id was banned so I got another and use it each time to get online.)
3-Next I installed eEID_RKDumper.pkg - then ran it, it went black then beeped a few times and restarted
4-Next I installed c2d+openssl in my c:\ .. then I installed openssl and got the 2008 c++ redists then renamed the openssl folder to C:\c2d
4-Next into multiman and copied eid_root_key from dev/hdd0/tmp and copied it to my pc into the new C2d folder and added .bin to the extension.
5-Next I installed rebug.pkg and started it and went to FlashToMemory and copied the flashCEX.bin to the C:\c2d
5-Next I opened CMD on my pc in the c:\c2d directory and typed " c2d.exe eid_root_key.bin flashCEX.bin flashDEX.bin 89 "(my region code 89 aus)
6-That completed successfully
7-Next I renamed the CEX dump to CEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN & renamed the New Dex file to DEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN then copied to the usb device and inserted into usb001
8-Next I loaded rebug toolbox and selected _ Rewrite Target ID in Flash... then yes to both popups
9-Last I went _Swap LV2 Kernel but it returned with an error saying ( THIS FUNCTION IS NOT AVAILABLE IN CEX MODE.. PLEASE FLASH A DEX NOR/NAND FIRST.

Can somebody please tell me where I went wrong on the last step.(SWAP_LV2 KERNEL).. Im so close to DEX cfw Advice required please

I can't link you to tutorial as different site, but here is copy and paste - I hate doing this - Using rebug 4.30.2 FW here is a small tut how to do it:

*you have to be on 3.55 kmeaw (only if you don't have your root key) *you need "multiman and dummy_bdemu" *install this "PKG file" *unplug any usb drive from ps3 and launch it *now plug your usb drive & go to multiman-->hdd0-->tmp and copy eid_root_key to usb drive then to your pc and rename it to dump *install REBUG 4.30.2 REX *install rebug toolbox 2 *put an usb drive to the usb port close to bd-drive *launch toolbox and go to cex dex and choose export flash to file *when finishedcopy thecreated fileto your pc *download this "CEX2DEX" cex2dex/ (to launch it download dll files needed put them in system32 folder) and launch it as administrator select the two filesyou copied before and select cex2dex when finished save your file as DEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN if you have nor & DEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN for nand *copy this fileto your usb and plug it in the port close to bd-drive go to toolbox2 and launch it go to CEX DEX and select rewrite target id in flash *the ps3 restart then launch toolbox and go to selector and choose system mode :rebug xmb operation mode :debug debug menu : debug *restart ps3 *launch toolbox and go to CEX DEX and select SWAP LV2 KERNEL *restart the ps3 . *In XMB “Settings” go to “Debug Settings” and set “Blu-ray Disc Access” option to “BD Emulator (USB)” & restart ps3 *In XMB “Settings” go to “Debug Settings” and format your usb using format bdemu drive *now put your usb drive in your pc and launch ps3 gen as administrator * Click “Show” button in the top right-hand corner * Click “Select File…” button * Locate and select “PLAYSTATION3.iso” provided in thisarchive * Click “Save / Emu …” button * Select “Write Image to BD Emulator HDD” * Select your BDEMU USB HDD * Pick a slot from the list and click “Write Image” * Connect the BDEMU USB HDD drive/stick to the right-most port (/dev_usb000) – the port closest to the BD-ROM drive * Turn on your PS3 you are DONE

PS: *to play god of war 3 discless:In Debug Settings on the XMB, change the 'Boot Mode' setting to 'Release Mode'.(thx djhazardous) *to connect to psn you have to go to UTILITIES and choose CHANGE ACTIVE PS3I 85 (you need to spoof it if you want psn & this every ps3 restart) *save your flash dumped ,you will needitifyou want to change FW ( rewrite target id in flash using original dump then downgrad using 999 downgrader) *for downgrade to 355 install rebug 999 downgrader from xmb then launch toolbox and enable qa flag then install kmeaw from recovery & your ps3 is downgraded and dehashed. now the latestmultiman support a hugecompatibilitywith discless games ,thanks to deanK also the latestiris manager have a super compatibility for discless.

Ok thankyou for the full instruction list, it was really complicated and nearly bent my mind. Well I got to the last step and now Im stuck. I select 'Save/EMU' after selecting the Playstation3.iso that I extracted from the archive then select 'Write Image To BD Emulator HDD' but theres nothing in the "BD Emulator Image List" even after waiting 2.5hrs to format a usb with 'Format BD Emulator HDD in Debug Settings.

What do I do I have my usb in and its been formatted first in the full format that didn't work so I tried the quick format but still no good... Please Help Im So F>N Close to completing the Cex2Dex conversion if you look at the quote the red section is where im up to.....

You are welcome, so you converted to REX already? As in swapped kernals and flashes.
As for bd-emulator I got stuck here aswell, all you do is run as administrator and the usb is detected now.

Ok thanx im running it as administrator and the usb shows up now but when selecting it, it returns with this message 'Image list in the Dialogue was not updated'...??

Could that be because I didn't do the full format this time just the quick format or maybe cause its a usb not a usb hdd???

is the last step the iso part going to matter if its not done today my brain feels like jelly. So now how do I spoof it to 4.46 cause the pkg I had installed now tells me it wont work. is there a 4.46 spoof ? And how now that im on DEX or Rex or whatevz it is how now do I get a Mw3 Mod Menu.???

What does it saw in Rebug Toolbox, second row 1st option, system information I believe. The usb emulator is not important, unless you want to play games discless, incase you blu ray drive doesn't read games. Tell me what it says in Toolbox.
As for RTM, I didn't convert for that, I only converted for discless gaming.
