That's all I'm gonna do...I'm not installing anything else, like stuff to download free games or nothing...just play online with GTA IV mods. I'm not going to be bothering people, I will just be in party mode with my friends playing around with mods. BUT I still don't get how the banning works. Does someone have to report you to get banned? Or does Sony see you whenever you're online with CFW? I will be using Rebug, but I'm having second thoughts because if I'm gonna get banned easily for just playing and modding in party mode then it's just not worth my time. How can people manage to play CFW online on GTA IV for months and not get banned?

Sony see's you online, if your going to go online with your CFW there is a huge chance of a ban. Whereas if your data transfer the GTA mods to an OFW ps3 and then go online, theres a tiny chance of a ban but its very slim to nothing! If your going to even sign in on a CFW, they basically instant ban your console, it just isnt worth the risk!!

So if you want to use your mods online, data transfer to your OFW, i have a sticked tutorial in the GTA section on how to do this.

Everything Gommy said is true, but I've been playing on CFW near enough everyday for about 4 months and haven't recieved any ban. Maybe I'm just lucky or maybe I could sign in tomorrow and be banned, if you wanna risk it on CFW then just play it safe by not using homebrew online, use things like PS Ninja and don't play new games, black ops 2 for example. As Gommy suggested data transfering is the safest way. Good luck.

This is one of the most controversial subjects it seems. Some say near instant bans, some say multiple months...

I am planning to go online on DEX, and play modded MW3 in private matches.

Not sure yet about the banning odds in doing that. Any more opinions? Any tips?
