Post: I have PS3 OFW 4.46 and wanting to Jailbreak (need help PLEASE)

Im currently running PS3 latest official firmware update, 4.46. The past month has been a rough one for myself due to the fact that ive been searching for a way to jailbreak my PS3. Btw my PS3 is a slim* Anyway, ive been downloading a bunch of .PUP files claiming to jailbreak OFW 4.46. But i realized that in order to Jailbreak you have to be on OFW 3.55 or below. I have a friend who has a jailbroken PS3 and we both have the same PS3 model. If i can remember we both have Cech-13000, or something like that and he managed to Jailbreak. Im stuck. Can someone help me please, give me any suggestions? Ive heard about using e3 flasher, but Im only a 15 year old with no job :cry: PLEASE HELP!

First stop believe stuff you see or read on youtube. You have found the right place to find the answers. You need to know your ps3 model number before anything. And when you say "we both have Cech-13000", no such model out there. Maybe you ment "CECH3000", but with that model you cannot cannot cannot Jailbreak and also cannot be downgraded to 3.55.
Unfortunately, the only way to come back to 3.55 you need to get a e3flasher or Progskeet to do the job. But, with that you need a newer "fat" ps3 or older "slim" ps3, that came with 3.55 or lower firmware installed.
Use this tutorial to see if you can downgrade. If it say 3.55 or lower then you are good to go.
