I'm trying really hard to understand your question.
I'm guessing you wanna downgrade your 2501b > then Jailbreak it > then mod games and also asking if this is stupid?
Since you mentioned downgrade, I'm assuming your on Official Firmware. You need to purchase a e3 flasher progskeet teensy++ to downgrade. Then you can jailbreak once your on 3.55.
Afterwards, then you can convert your CEX console to DEX in order to mod games like MW2
