if its laggy while you are in private match alone or something it might be your computer

That's the thing, my gaming pc can run any game on the highest (Ultra) settings. I ran the mw3 menu on my pc and not my laptop, and went in a private match. It was still laggy.

Edit: I had checked my connection settings, I was on wireless instead of Ethernet. My bad, not laggy at all anymore.
