Post: Jailbreak just the hard drive?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I was talking with a friend about jail breaking and he said it only effects the hard drive, so if that's the case then any PS3 that is bricked is easy to repair is it not? Just need to replace the hard drive correct?

So this would lead me to believe that when you JB a PS3, you can have a 2nd drive with OFW and their for switch them out as you want.

Is this all correct? I am thinking of JBing, but want to understand more about the concept.

Hope I have made sense, and I hope someone here can help clear this all up for me. I am new to the scene, sorry if I am very behind the times.

Your Firmware Is Stored in Your Nand Chip Not Your Harddrive

If it was that easy everybody would have a CFW PS3.
Sadly due to the design it stored on the HDD/NAND chip to protect the PS3.
