Honestly to tell you the truth. In my opinion just say offline away from psn. That's the best way to be safe. Then modding MW2, COD4, W@W isn't an instant ban or not even a ban. Modding BO1, MW3, BO2 is an instant ban from the call of duty server and a ban from sony in a few hours or so. You can host MW2, COD4, W@W by having a second ps3 with you and doing the transfer data to the other ps3. There is a lot of tutorials out there that show you how to do it. The best CFW in my opinion is Rubug's 4.46.1 CEX and most of the latest games work on it. To find that firmware google is your friend. The latest multiman also works on this firmware. That's also most of the things that you could do with the CFW ps3.

You also said you have a rogeros cfw on the ps3. Its simple just find rebugs 4.46.1 CEX CFW and put it in a USB. Its a simple update.

Requirements:

1.USB
2.Make a folder called (PS3-UPDATE-PS3UPDAT.PUP) there is a lot of tutorials out there on how to do that.
3.Make sure you do the update via USB not network.

it only takes a few minutes.

The best thing out of all of it is emulators and apps that can be run on the ps3 without sonys permission. Emulators can also be found on google.
