(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So i've recently downgraded my ps3 and i've been having loads of freezing issues with my ps3. I was on 3.55 and updated to 3.50 rogero and had loads of freezing issues. I swapped out the hard drives and i was perfectly fine when i used 4.50 habibs cfw. During a call of duty game my ps3 froze so i restarted it. After that it started freezing alot again so i decided to do another hard drive swap. This time the homebrew wouldn't load. It installed perfectly and showed up on the xmb but would sit at a blank screen. I've tried multiple custom firmwares and multiple hard drives and they all have the same issue. Anybody have any clue? Thanks.

edit* Freezing has been fixed (or it appears to have been fixed) but i'm still black screening on games and homebrew.

If homebrew isn't loading it sounds like its the blue ray drive giving you problems. Same happened to me a while back, make sure the ribbon cable is still connected from the blue ray to the mother board.

Make sure all your PS3 screws are screwed in the right place and secured. Secondly where the heat clamp screws go make sure you put extra pressure on it, you can you cardboard paper to do that. Once you have done all this go into system recovery and restore the file system. Lastly update to a later such custom firmware such as Rogero 4.50.

I made sure the ribbon was connected to the drive and the motherboard but i think my blue ray drive may be going out period... Sometimes it doesn't recognize when a game has been put in. Also if it does recognize the game and you turn off the system and turn it back on it won't see that the game is in there. I've heard something about remarrying, do you think that could be a problem? The freezing issue has kind of stopped since i re-attached the ribbon cable though!

I think it may be my blue ray drive though, i've re-attached the ribbon cables and it seems to have fixed the freezing problem (at least for now) and my blue ray drive is having trouble reading discs right now :/

Yup. I had the same thing when I disconnected my drive from my board (thinking it wouldn't do anything) and later to find out it causes freezing and homebrew issues.

try hitting the eject button after hitting the homebrew. I did it a couple times before my bluray when out

Yeah it's really frustrating :/ I'm thinking of buying a new blu ray drive to see if that'll fix everything. I really don't know what else to do :/

It doesn't do anything if i hit the eject button, it'll just make 3 beep sound when there's no disc in the drive.

If you do buy a new you would need to research on re-marrying the motherboard with the blu-ray, I never did much research on it.
