But, then why would you need JB files if you already have a JB PS3 that is on 4.50?

There is no real jailbreak after 3.55 OFW, If you want to put CFW on your 4.50 OFW you will need to downgrade it.
Im sure the only way to do this is to buy an E3 flasher, (this is not easy).
