Depends where or from who you purchase the PS3. Rarely some will sell you a PS3 on 3.55 or below. Most likely you will end up buying a PS3 that is on the most current firmware.

Everyone has a personal preference. The PS3 still has some life in it and a tons of games for it. The PS4 just came out and very short library comparing to the PS3's collection.

search 3.55 ps3 on ebay . most of them go for $200 . its half the price of a PS4 .

I would but I don't really trust eBay for stuff like this so I'd rather spend 80$ more or whatever and do more work because I know people who've bought a bricked ps3
