Took my Slim 120GB CECH2003A apart... installed E3 flasher... part assembled with fan and PSU and tried to get dump.... failed each time.... nor checker had lots of errors.... so I gave up.... took E3 out.... put PS3's back together with new thermal paste.... went to turn on.... YLOD.

All I had done was updated E3 and tried to get dump... how did I YLOD?

I've tried
Formatting HDD with PC
Fan test (works)
Turning on without fan
Turning on without disk drive
Checking PSU with voltmeter
Reapplying thermal paste
Adding coins under clamps
Checking chips aren't damaged which they are not.

PS3 turns on, goes green, blue light flashes then it flashes yellow and turns off

Power cord is fine, psu is fine, disk drive is fine, fan works, what else?

A reward will go to whoever successfully helps me fix it

Well try it I am assuming you might get a black screen when you finally turn it on though
But, then again not sure if that is the actual problem from the get go
Won't hurt to try bro

No luck, still YLOD, I'll check the connection with a voltmeter, if it's fine then I'll assume I've bricked it

You will need to get a copper wire and attach it to the NOR tristate and the a GND point in the motherboard. So, flip over the motherboard, yes with all the components attached, and try to attach the copper wire to those two points. You don't have solder BTW you can just tape down to the points

Once that is done, try to turn on the ps3 and see if it stays on. If so then continue to take a dump out and also remove the wire.
Attach the E3 flasher at this point with the PS3 ON
If you turn off the ps3, you will need to do the wire thing again
You need to take a good dump out, make sure to validate the dump, and then reflash it back again with all switched down
This will fix YLOD symptom, which you turn on then it turns off on you.

I'm really hope you didn't erase the NOR or corrupted it in someway. It is called semi-brick, turn off after a few seconds when you turn it on. The semi-brick occurs when you fail to rewrite the NOR and attempt to turn on the PS3 afterwards. I am only assuming this because you say the FAN works, new thermal paste added and the clamps are on securely.

Well, just try the wire thing and if it stays on then you know it is a Semi-brick and pray that you can still get a valid dump to reflash

Is this confirmed to work ? And does it have to be copper wire ?
