Post: # Need Help DEX PS3 - When I Quit a Game or App I Get Constant XMB Background

Console Type: Fat
Firmware: ITA 4.41 "Changed it to ITA 4.50 to see if that would fix the problem it didn't"
Problem: When I go onto any app or game. For example as MM or ITA Manager or a Game such as MW3.
My console works fine though once I quit the app or game I will get a constant Black Screen and sparkly small circle images appearing, just like the original PS3 Background though darker.
Failed Attempts:
1: Waited until it loads, it never did
2: Tried to change Firmware from ITA 4.41 to ITA 4.50 "Still the same problem"
Note* If their is anymore information required that may help resolve this issue feel free to message me and ill update this thread.
Also if some one does help me get the console working i'll donate money to you.

it might be your hard drive mate cause my ps3 was doing this and eventually the file system corrupted then everytime file system was done restoring i got a black screen so i booted into recovery mode and tryed to restore firm ware ( 4.46 D-REX ) cause im on dex but after clicking update option my ps3 would freeze with no hdd indication so i replaced hdd then hdd formatted & i installed 4.46 D-REX on my new hdd successfully & now my ps3s working again

Hmm so you think I would need to just buy a new hard drive then replace it with my current one. Then after this update to the Firmware I am currently on? Would it stay on DEX or would it downgrade to CEX?
Would I have to get onto recovery mode as my console also has a problem with that.
Also if you have skype can you PM me your Skype name and thanks for the help as well as ill look into this.

try doing recovery option #5 then let me know if that works
