There are guides on this already.. DT probably does the best/easiest one to follow.

I'll give you the gist of what you'll need to do anyway, so you can work out if you have the patience etc..

1.) downgrade with a 9.99 downgrader to 3.55
2.) qa flag your console (not needed, but I advise it so you can always install any fw)
3.) dump your eid root key with a homebrew application
4.) install 3.55 cfw or ofw over the downgrader fw
5.) upgrade to a rebug fw (something like 4.21)
6.) dump your nor flash onto a memory stick using rebug toolbox
7.) convert your flash to dex with c2d and the eid root key you dumped earlier
8.) flash your converted flash file.
9.) swap your lv2 kernel to DEX
10.) downgrade with a DEX 9.99 downgrade (I used rebug's one)
11.) Once you're on 3.55 DEX, go up to ps3ita 4.50 then spoof to 4.55

*before anyone complains about how vague that was, it's not a tutorial. It's just a basic overview of what needs doing.*

So, I hope this helps you in someway. There are other methods of doing it, but this is the way I use.
