(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); i am getting my ps3 downgraded to 3.55 OFW and i want to be on a dex based firmware and im not sure what i have to do to get on it i know i can rtm on a cex based firmware but id prefer to be on dex can anyone link me a good tutorial or explain what i need to do.

Update to the Dex firmware you want to be on (get a usb, make a folder called ps3, in the ps3 folder make another folder called update, and then place the dex firmware file in the update folder and rename it to PS3UPDAT.PUP). Put the USB in your PS3, go to system update and click the second option (not update by internet), and then you'll be on that firmware. You'll need an Ethernet cable and prodg/target manager downloaded on your computer to use dex tools. otherwise download ccapi on your ps3 and your pc and then you can use cex tools.

I've just finish going to DEX & i think i can help you.

I went to REBUG 4.46.1 D-REX, i've started from 3.41 OFW then went to REBUG 3.55.4 REX to finally REBUG 4.46.1 D-REX.


I'm not sure the way you want to proceed but i've used mainly DEREKTROTTER tutorial except some few steps because i did everything from REBUG 3.55.4 REX . Instead of using kmeaw 3.55 to get the eid_root_key & then going to REBUG 4.21 to get the Flash File. ( .NORBIN or .NANDBIN ).

I've used REBUG 3.55.4 REX because it as the "REBUG Toolbox" in the "Package Manager" ready to install & in it there are the option you're looking for in 4.21. The option being "Export Flash to File" to get your NOR/NAND file & "Rewrite Target id in Flash" where you will use your final NOR/NAND file. Also being a REX CFW in as the option just over "Rewrite Target id in Flash" to "Swap LV2 Kernel" witch allows you to Swap your EID0/LV2 kernel using Rebug Toolbox in seconds.


But first you need your eid_root_key from 3.55, you need to use eEid.RKDumper Package. Then when you got your Root Key, you "Export Flash to File" & convert your NOR/NAND file using c2d + openssl. When they're Rewrite you "Rewrite Target ID in Flash" with your new NORBIN/NANDBIN files. Then you "Swap LV2 Kernel" & you're on DEX.


Just update to REBUG 4.46.1 D-REX & delete the old REBUG Toolbox. Then re-install it via the "Package Manager Hard Drive". Open it and open the "System Information" you`ll see you will be on 4.46 DEX with your "LV2 Kernel" set to DEX & your "Target ID" to DEX.

And you're done.

The only thing you don't follow about theses is going to 4.21 to make the conversion. You do everything from the REBUG 3.55.4 REX.


I'm not saying this is the best way but it was easy for me to do that way & i think it`s less complicated since you don`t have to change firmware during the process.
